HeyPay on the Main Stage at WOCEE 2026

On August 8, 2026, HeyPay was on the main stage at the SMX Convention Center Manila as one of the official qualifiers of the Cryptita Plays Builder Showcase @ WOCEE 2026. Ronald Ajusan led the pitch.
The stage
WOCEE — the World of Consumer Electronics Expo — ran August 5–8, 2026 at SMX Convention Center, Pasay. The Cryptita Plays Builder Showcase was its live pitch competition on the main stage, open to students, developers, startup founders, and researchers presenting working products, MVPs, prototypes, and capstone projects across five categories, with a ₱20,000 prize on the line.
Cryptita Plays is the Filipino Web3 education initiative founded by content creator Arshelene Lingao, known for grassroots programs like a remote mini-library and the Barya to Blockchain youth encyclopedia. That heritage set the tone: a room that wanted to know who a project is actually for.
What HeyPay showed
The demo was the whole pitch: pay any QRPH merchant in the Philippines straight from a Stellar balance. Scan the same QR code the merchant already accepts, confirm a live crypto→PHP quote, and the merchant gets paid in ordinary pesos — zero new integration on their side.
That last clause is the product. Most “crypto payments” stories ask the merchant to change something: install an app, accept a new asset, trust a new counterparty, reconcile a second ledger. HeyPay asks for none of it. From behind the counter, the transaction is an ordinary QRPH payment that settles in pesos to the usual bank account. The crypto leg is entirely the payer’s business.
Why QRPH is the right rail
The pitch made the market case with BancNet’s 2025 figures, shown on stage: 2.47 billion QR PH payment-to-merchant transactions in 2025, against 2.18 billion person-to-person InstaPay transfers, out of 5.67 billion total approved switched transactions worth ₱15.82 trillion.
QRPH is not an emerging rail in the Philippines — it is the rail, already displayed at counters nationwide. Building on top of infrastructure that merchants have adopted beats asking them to adopt yours.
Thanks
To the Cryptita Plays team, and to everyone who stopped by, asked hard questions, and believed in crypto’s missing last mile — thank you. This is only the beginning.
HeyPay is led by Ronald Ajusan and built under Artisam Labs.
